The Assistant Plant Manager implements activities necessary to effectively manage the EHS Program at a  Generating Station. The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring site compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards and company policies involving environmental, health, safety and security regulations; for the reduction of risks associated with energy production; with focus on environmental sustainability, general safety, environmental safety, industrial hygiene and the maintenance of OSHA VPP certification. Additionally, the Assistant Plant Manager assists the Plant Manager in operating the two facilities. This includes assisting the operations, maintenance and financial departments, and filling in for the Plant Manager during absences.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Qualified candidate must have a BS degree in mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering, physical sciences, industrial hygiene, or other engineering discipline. MS in Engineering, PE license or MBA preferred.
10-15 years of power plant experience, ideally GE Frame 5 equipment or gas turbine equipment, including 4 years in an environmental, health and safety position
